For the love of Frocktober

Bagged me a bargain with this thrifted frock. I got change from a tenner!

I did it for the first time in 2014 and then again last year. Tomorrow I’m set to go off my frocker yet again.

So what’s it all about, Alfie? Frocktober is an initiative of Australia’s Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation. During the month of October, frock lovers like me will wear 31 frocks over 31 days. We’re frocking up to raise awareness about fundraising for the development of an early detection test. You’ll find my page here.

I’d like to thank everyone who has supported my former Frocktobers, especially my talented, supportive and patient photographer. If this is your first Frocktober, welcome aboard. I’ll be posting daily snaps on Instagram and I’m aiming to do some weekly wrap ups here too.

So that’s my October. Now over to you. What have you got planned for next month?

I now own one dress (with hand drawn stars on it!) so I couldn’t do frocktober!!

A star frock? That sounds awesome. Funny you mention that one frock. I was considering doing 31 days of a simple black dress (styled 31 different ways) but I like a little colour so I’ve decided to opt for a bit of light and shade.

    You look amazing!
I am not sure if I have 31 frocks! I could do 31 handbags or shoes very easily.
    Good luck with it all!

Oh, good luck Tonia! I think I own one dress / frock and it doesn’t even fit me…. Am not much of a frock-ish person. I’m currently trying to lose weight so it’ll be interesting to see if that changes if / when I do!

Thanks! I know what you mean. I have lots of dresses but always end up wearing trousers (mostly jeans, if I’m honest). Love this time of year as it gives me an excuse to pull out the frocks for a wonderful cause.

I own quite a few dresses but I don’t think I’d have enough to do the full 31 day challenge. Best of luck with it!

Thank you! I feel very naughty having so many dresses but lots of them are bargain buys from op shops. Last year, I did a big clean out after Frocktober and I think I’ll do the same again this year. Meanwhile, have a great weekend. Thanks for the encouragement.

Good morning Merilyn, happy Saturday. What a weekend I’ve got planned! Whilst I’m knee deep in frocks, I’m also doing a big clean out of accessories. Oh dear, oh dear. I am such a magpie. I like your idea of a more minimal look. I need to take a leaf out of your book, me thinks. Hope you have a great weekend. x
