Frockstars, we’re but four days away from closing up the frock follies for 2016. Let’s remember this is a catwalk for a cause. The aim is to raise awareness and vital funding for the development of an early detection program for ovarian cancer research. To find out more, pop over to Frocktober’s page where you’ll find the sobering stats that have driven us frock lovers to dig deep into our wardrobes for 31 days. Two lovely ladies deserve a dual shout out this week. Thanks to Sammie from The Annoyed Thyroid and Sue from I Cherry Shoe for your kind donations. You’ve both been such enthusiastic supporters and I couldn’t be more grateful. Care to recap this week’s wardrobe? Read on, Frockstars.
Saturday 22 October
Around this time last year, I was in Sydney for a conference and found myself with a couple of hours to spare on the day of my arrival. So naturally I went for a wander around my new neighbourhood and quicker than you can say ‘why not stay in and order room service’, I found this little printed gem. Strangely, I picked up this frock in the ‘vintage’ section of a retail store. Incidentally, I’ve been meaning to fasten its buttons for the past 12 months! I must pop that on the ‘to do’ list for this weekend’s mends.
Sunday 23 October
Frocktober’s shown me there are some real wildcards in my wardrobe but this cotton candy never lets me down. Beach, bistro and barbecue … she’s an all-rounder that offers comfort and convenience — in spades. A weekend warrior like no other, I’ve never taken her for a spin on a weekday. I figure some dresses should be solely savoured on Saturdays and Sundays.
Monday 24 October
NWT. Let me spell it out for you, Frockstars. New With Tags. I paid just $10 for this little ray of sunshine and she had tags attached which, of course, I ripped off and discarded in my excitement. It was a punt purchase as the op shop from whence she came didn’t have a change room so I crossed my fingers this frock was going to fit and voilà my gamble paid off. I can’t believe it’s the first spot of yellow to make it into my wardrobe. All of a sudden, I’m driven to embrace this side of the colour wheel.
Tuesday 25 October
Yes, I’m a bit dotty for dots but this black and white beauty rarely comes out to play. You see, it requires a rather cool day. I’m not sure why but I find the fabric a tad too warm to be worn in summer so thank goodness spring has finally sprung.
Wednesday 26 October
Look familiar? I wore a similar frock last week and I featured this very maxi in this very post. Am I obsessed with this design? Maybe. Do I want more in my wardrobe? You bet. P.S. Big, big love to my photographer for this snap. It’s officially my favourite Frocktober photo.
Thursday 27 October
I’ve got two words for you. Lazy Bones. This is not a sponsored post, I actually bought this dress many moons ago but how delightful is this brand and its frockage? With a cut and fabric as cute as this, it’s very, very easy to be green. Do you see what I mean?
Friday 28 October
Frockstars, it has been a long week and this trusty charcoal number is just what I need to get me over the finish line. Did you notice it’s partially gathered at the sides? I’m rather partial to a quirky detail so naturally this frock is a fav.
This year’s fundraising is fast coming to a close. If you’d like to donate, you can find all the details here. As always, thank you for your support. I’ve been so touched by the kind words and donations to date.
Now it’s over to you. How’s your week been?
