Frocktober week three

At last count, this frock rocked up 76 likes on Instagram. Yep, it’s this week’s fav.

21 today. 21 dresses that is. Frockstars, we’re over halfway in our Frocktober fundraising.

New here? Well, I’m wearing 31 dresses in 31 days to help raise research funds for the development of an early detection test for ovarian cancer. So far, a bunch of generous folk have contributed to the cause. This week’s special mentions include Kathy from Yin Yang Mother and my dear friend Anna. Thank you both for your donations. You’ve made my week. Here’s what made up my wardrobe this week …

Saturday 15 October

It was chore central here on Saturday, so I popped on a pinny and set to work on scrubbing the bathtub, mopping the floor and doing the laundry. This denim diva was just the ticket for a day knee-deep in elbow grease. Its origins are the same as the Pink Panther I mentioned here. Yep, it was one of three frocks I picked up for $25 at a market. By my calculations, my stocks are up.

Sunday 16 October

This frock features a plunging neckline and a light fabric which makes me think it was intended to be worn over swimwear. Nevertheless, I throw a light cami underneath and call it a frock. Please tell me I’m not the only gal who shirks convention when it comes to a frock’s original intention?

Monday 17 October

Let me begin by giving a huge shout out to my mate Renee. She accompanied me on a recent op shopping jaunt and insisted I try this frock on for size. I wasn’t immediately sold but, truth be told, I’m glad I heeded her advice. It’s so comfy to wear and those pockets, well need I say more?

Tuesday 18 October

Frockstars, if I’m honest, this one was salvaged from my ‘recycling’ pile. Yes, she’s making up the numbers for Frocktober but her days in my wardrobe really are numbered. I just don’t feel quite myself in this style.

Wednesday 19 October

I am, quite possibly, obsessed with this maxi. I’ve had this one for a while but recently I spotted it in a new print and now I can think of nothing else. Just to be clear, this is not a sponsored post but I just love, love, love this frock the most.

Thursday 20 October

This is my go-to LBD for getting out and about ASAP. Pockets. Tick. Cool fabric. Tick. No iron. Tick. I mean, really, what more could a gal want?

Friday 21 October

I rescued this frock from a car boot sale. She was crumpled up in a tired and torn cardboard box — barely detectable to the untrained eye but, me oh my, I knew that fabric had potential. Washed up and pinned up (the top is a tad too big) she scrubbed up a treat.

Frockstars, we’ve only got ten days left. If you’d like to make a donation, please visit my fundraising page. Meanwhile, thank you for your contributions and encouragement thus far. You make frocking up such fun.

Tell me, are you frocking up this weekend?

Hey thanks Michelle, that floral frock has turned out to be a real find. Can’t wait to wear it to some Christmas functions. Hope you have a good week.

  • I’ve loved following along with your Frocktober on Instagram. You sure know how to rock a frock. Fabulous fashions and an awesome cause. Of course, you look fabulous in everything you wear, so I couldn’t possibly pick a favourite 🙂

Sammie, thank you so much for your donation overnight. What a lovely surprise to start my week! I’m so very grateful to you. Thanks also for your kind words re: my frock collection. So many of them are just cheap and cheerful numbers from op shops and markets. I do love a bit of ‘recycling’! Have a great week. You’ve got mine off to an awesome start. Thanks again.

You’re very kind, Grace. Thank you. That red bag was a real bargain. Found it at my favourite op shop last year and we’ve been just about joined at the hip ever since! x
