Drum roll please … my Frocktober fundraising got a good kick along this week, thanks to Michelle from In The Good Books Blog, Janet from Middle Aged Mama and Lara from This Charming Mum. This generous trio has had a special place in my heart these past seven days. Same goes for these seven little looks.
Saturday 8 October
I woke up craving a cuppa on Saturday. I had a bunch of dental work done last week and I was prohibited from partaking in anything piping hot, so you can bet my first coffee hit the spot. As for this short shift, apart from St Patrick’s Day and the occasional beach outing, it rarely gets a run as it’s a bit too short for my pins. The long and short of it? This is not Kermit’s first rodeo. He was also included in former Frocktobers but little else I’m afraid.
Sunday 9 October
Can you believe I picked up this delicate white wonder at an op shop? Pray tell, who would discard such a work of art? Speaking of which, it hangs in my wardrobe as if it were a museum piece. This one could be Saturday’s sister, I tell you. Both of these frocks spend much too much time hidden away.
Monday 10 October
If ever there were a workhorse in my wardrobe, it’s this Leonard St LBD. Teamed with tights, it’s a winter staple. Add a strappy sandal and it’s a summer favourite. It truly is a frock for all four seasons. Did I mention I bought it in Melbourne?
Tuesday 11 October
I’ve got one word for you — 1550. Or, more precisely, $15.50. That was the princely sum I paid to pocket this little beauty at my local op shop. Fits like a glove and got oh so much Insta love. Hello, high rotation. I can see this frock featuring in many a summer holiday snap.
Wednesday 12 October
This apron and frock go together like jam and cream on a sponge cake, don’t you think? Let me tell you, Wednesday was a whirlwind at this end so I was grateful to have that little reminder to make like a sausage roll. Hmmm … that gets me thinking … pass me a party pie, will you?
Thursday 13 October
I’m of two minds, Frockstars. This maxi’s another op shop find but I’m finding myself a bit torn as to how it should be worn. Belt or no belt? Collar or loose? There’s a little zip at the front but I can’t quite work out what works best. Rarely am I so contrary but this frock’s got me flummoxed.
Friday 14 October
Well folks, it’s the shirt dress that might become a shirt. Maybe I’m reinventing the wheel but here’s the deal … I’d like to chop off the skirt and use the top to team with black trousers. What say you? Yay or nay?
We’re almost halfway there, Frockstars. There’s only 17 frocks to go, so I want you to know you can make a donation here or leave some moral support below. But before you go, please know this frock-loving filly is so very grateful to have you in her corner for this very special month.
