Long time no sea

beach1

What a gap in transmission! This poor old blog has been benched for the past few months while Christmas, birthdays and new year’s celebrations took over. It’s true, it has been a long time and no sea.

Although I live by the beach, I rarely get my toes wet in December and January. Instead, we let the tourists enjoy our little piece of paradise while we bunker down at home with seafood and an assortment of baked goods.

Cue the commencement of my diet. So far so good, although it’s early days.

In the days since we last spoke (eek – my last post was around four months ago) there’s been a mix of big and little news. I quit my day job to focus on freelancing full-time, I saw Oprah on stage and took a quick trip to Sydney.

What have you been up to in the last little while?

    Hi Tonia
Just as you return to the bloggersphere, I am about to go ‘off-line’ for awhile – I’ve been writing a lot on my blog, but not getting very much response, and have decided that I need to regroup and rethink what I am doing!
Good luck with the diet – I had a shock when I stepped on the scales last year and realised I needed to get back in shape. I’ve lost 10 kilos and getting closer to my target weight every day but it’s has been (and continues) to be a long and tough journey.

Golly you’ve done well. Congrats on that 10kilos! Sorry to hear you’re heading offline. Hope to see you back soon. Meanwhile, happy new year and I hope your downtime provides the little respite you’re after. Don’t stay away too long xx

Thanks Diana. Oprah was A.W.E.S.O.M.E. You’d have loved it. I’ll tell you all about it when next we catch up (which will be soon I hope). x

  • Yay I missed you! I’m so pleased you’re back! That’s really exciting about your job now you can be your own boss! I’ve heard such amazing things about Oprah – what was the best bit? I’ve been to Tassie, ran a half marathon, met the real Caramello Koala and got pretty nails. I think that’s quite enough to be going on with. Oh, and happy, happy birthday!

Hey thanks so much Sammie. Wowsers, your cup has runneth over. Sounds like it has been a busy few months for you too! As for Oprah, I think the best bit was the way she managed to weave so many gems into just a couple of hours. I don’t think I moved a muscle! I was glued to every word. Insightful, funny, uplifting … it was all that and so much more.

What a warm welcome, thanks Merilyn. You’re lovely. Hope you didn’t encounter any of the wild weather up here – we had a string of days with rain, rain and more rain. Glad to hear you’re settling into the new year. May 2016 be full of artistic endeavours, happy times and good health. xx

You’re a one lucky girl! You don’t have to spend a lot for a summer escapade. You just have to go outside and feel that relaxing ocean breeze.
