Monday mourning (01.06.15)

Excuse me while I stick my head in my handbag. I’m looking for the weekend. It slipped through my fingers and disappeared before I had the chance to say a proper goodbye.

Yes I’m feeling flat, hence the flats. Further north is a no-name Nancy. I wish I could remember this blouse’s heritage but alas I’ve struck a blank in my memory bank. I’m pretty sure she was thrifted but beyond that I can’t elaborate. Besides, this top doesn’t need any more embellishment. Check out the gold collar and trim, I think that adds a certain something to its swing.

Did I mention this weekend was full of swings and roundabouts? I had an early kick off on Saturday morning to sort through a long list of chores and paperwork. By noon I was through the worst of it and decided to treat myself to a spot of window shopping. Stumbled upon a new antique furniture store and wished I had a pied-a-terre that needed a complete refurb. What fun to play interior decorator for a day.

Then on Sunday we had a late breakfast that turned into lunch. We were serenaded by an amazing singer who performed covers of some of my favourite artists. What a happy coincidence to combine a few of my favourite things.

Tell me, did you hit the high notes this weekend? Are you Monday mourning too?

Linking up today with The Multitasking Mummy.

heh heh, flats….Went to Vivid (again) so that’s always a winner – and actually got lunch with husband (and kids) so that was a bonus!

Oh Vivid looked AMAZING – glad you got to go twice. Hope Monday is kind to you!

  • I had high tea with Minnie Mouse at the Langham Hotel – that was pretty spesh! The rest of the weekend flew by and now I’ve a horrible load of housework to face again…

Oh that sounds very ooh la la! I’m impressed. Tell me there were Minnie Mouse ears for all? I hope so. Re: the housework…hold off till mid week (at least)! Ease into it I say.

The weekend came & went & my baby didn’t come 🙁 lol I was sure she would have by now. But yesterday was our ‘dating anniversary’, so at least we ate great food & got out of the house. Your weekend sounded busy but lovely. Enjoy your week 🙂

Thanks lovely Merilyn. I like the sound of that boat. By the way, when I was a kid we had a boat and spent many holidays on the water – I loved it! Here’s to calm seas for you and I this week xx

It was Mr McD’s birthday yesterday so our weekend was full of food and wine and cake. The way all weekends should be 🙂

I second that! Now, was it food, wine and cake in that order? Remember, cake always come first! Have a good week.

  • Was definitely Monday mourning!!! Why do weekend days go so much faster than week day days?

Good question Ingrid and one I ask myself most Sunday nights!

  • I think I was Monday mourning on Sunday because I had to work on Sunday. 🙁 My weekdays and weekends seem to be morphing into each other of late…I must rectify!

Working on a Sunday? Oh dear. I hope there was coffee (and lots of it) x

  • That’s the only thing I don’t like about the weekend, it goes too fast! We had fun with friends, had a great date night and spent a disproportionate amount of time in our Toy Story pyjamas, just because we could! Love the outfit, and hope that this week is full of highs! And the good news? The weekend is a-coming!

Sounds like you hit the trifecta Sammie. Hope your week is playing out nicely too. Only two more sleeps till a long weekend – yay and double yay!

  • So many high notes this weekend – it was a long one in Perth so it was more Tuesday mourning for me! Sunshine, beach visits, family time, a date night with Handy Hubby. It was a good one. Hope you get that pied-a-terre one day xx

Oh that long weekend sounds delicious Tash. We have one coming up this weekend and I can’t wait. As for that imaginary pied-a-terre, you’re officially invited to the imaginary house warming party! I imagine it to be somewhere in Europe, I hope that’s not too far to travel! xx
