Monday mourning (15.06.15)

Do you ever feel like an oversized toddler?

You do?

Yeah, me too.

This morning I wanted to throw a tantrum and refuse to leave the house. I wanted to stamp my feet and shove my fingers six inches into my ears whilst singing a high-pitched la la la to block out the alarm.

Instead I got up and got dressed.

I’m rocking red pins because I painted the town red this weekend. I spent the past 48 hours in Melbourne for Kidspot’s Voices of 2015 but I’ll tell you more about that a little later in the week. (p.s. if you were there, please don’t tell the others I’m wearing the same outfit I wore on Saturday. Oh the shame of it).

Needless to say, I’m Monday mourning. Here’s the who’s who of my dark hues…I’m wearing a Tree of Life skirt I bought last year, a Portmans top (also purchased 12 months ago) and of course my trusty Gorman boots are making another cameo. Not sponsored. Blah, blah. I’m sorry to be so uncommunicative but remember I’m sulking.

My inner child is cross because she wants the weekend’s good times to keep on rolling and my oh my did they roll…

As well as meeting a bunch of new bloggers and reconnecting with a few familiar online faces too, I squeezed in a couple of quick catch ups with my beloved Melbourne peeps who continue to amaze me with their wit, wisdom and warmth.

I also savoured my first coffee in six weeks (I’m giving up the black brew but that’s also a story for another day) and I spent 15 glorious minutes in Uniqlo where I picked up two cute additions to my winter wardrobe.

That’s it for moi for now. I’m dashing off to catch the bus, much as I’d rather be riding another airbus…

Tell me, did your weekend hit the heights? Are you Monday mourning?

Linking up today with The Multitasking Mummy.

Thanks Merilyn – here’s hoping those red tights put a spring in my step. I’m battling a head cold too so it’s uphill today! Have a good week x

  • Hi Tonia. Can I just say in all sincerity, and without a hint of weird stalkerishness, that you really wear clothes well. And I love how you usually have a mix of oppy and retail too.

Oh Bel, I’m hearing you. Usually I try and take a day either side of a conference but I couldn’t quite swing it this time. As for that fire, it sounds sublime. I’d love a fireplace and marshmallows and hot chocolate and days and days to put my thinking cap on and get comfy. So nice to meet you and your sister yesterday. Thanks for swinging by the blog x

Thanks Veronica. I’m battling with a head cold today so Monday seemed even longer than usual! Have a good week.

  • Oh I love your Monday mourning posts and I especially love this outfit. The Kidspot party sounded awesome and let’s face it when an outfit looks that fabulous, you should totally wear it twice! x

Oh you’re lovely, thanks Sammie. It all flew by too quickly. I could have spent days nattering away to all those bloggers. Here’s to August on the GC. See you there! x

Oh Sarah, thank you so much. You’ve made my night! It was really lovely meeting you too. Apologies I didn’t get to say goodbye. I had to dash off pretty quickly. Wasn’t it a great event? Here’s hoping we meet again at another blogging event soon. xx

  • I’ve been in toddler tantrum mode since about 6pm Saturday. I don’t do well without that much sleep.

It was so good to meet you, albeit briefly. There really needs to be more time for just catching up at these events.

Raychael, that was a champion effort to make the journey! I’m so glad we got to meet in person. Here’s to many more catch-ups in the near future. (p.s. hope you get some rest this weekend) x

  • Oh yes did my weekend reach heights! I got to go away with my gorgeous friend to a hotel on the Gold Coast – child free! We both enjoyed dinner, wine, more wine, high tea, ocean views….and then we had to go home. Both of us were most definitely like little toddlers trying to leave our ocean view room “I don’t want to go, I don’t want to go.” We have made a pact that we have Mummy weekends away more often.

Eva, that sounds fabulous! Was it a special occasion or “just because”? I love a mini-break. Here’s to many more weekends away for you and your pal. Sounds so relaxing.

  • Love those boots Tonia! And yes, I’m always feeling like a big kid. Heck – I blog about toys!!!
