Monday mourning (21.09.15)

Where did that weekend go? I swear I blinked and just about missed it. Kept my peepers peeled just long enough to discover one of my favourite op shops now opens on Sundays. Happy days. Picked up this preloved Trent Resort frock for $8.00. Naturally it features our Monday colour code but beside the black is a bit of razzle dazzle. Just quietly, I’ve been feeling a bit frazzled so I’m hoping these bright hues will wake up this weary gal.

Had a girls’ get-together on Sunday with the lovely Helen and co. from Home Base. Gosh it was nice to stroll the markets with her and her offspring. Speaking of which…Nina’s back next year. What say you?

…and what of your weekend? Do tell, I’m all ears.

I remember Trent Resort (by Trent Nathan) from way back – I always liked his stuff – an Australian classic. I really like the way you’ve teamed with nude pumps and handbag. On the weekend, I did a drawing – to inspire my fairy tales, started a knitting project and reading “Purity” by Jonathan Franzen. It seems I am the only one in the world who is not an avid watcher of “Offspring” but I did watch the interview with the cast from “A Place To Call Home” in readiness for Season 3 – that will air next week. Enjoy your week!

Thanks! I’m a big fan of nude-coloured accessories. Trust me, that bag and pair of pumps get quite a wardrobe workout!I love the sound of your weekend, especially the knitting. Every winter I tell myself I’ll knit a scarf but I never seem to get round to it (probably a good thing, considering I have 100,000 scarves).

OMG what a bargain that frock was. Absolutely gorgeous. I honestly need a weekend and a half to recover from the weekend. School holidays kicks off end of this week and I can’t wait. Hoping for lots of down time.

Merilyn, that weekend of yours sounds sublime. Funny you mention ice cream. It’s my latest addiction. I can highly, highly recommend salted caramel and honeycomb. Outrageously good! xx

Janet, it was such a lovely surprise. Apparently they’re only going to open on alternate Sundays when the nearby markets are on but that’s twice a month so I’m happy. Have a good week.

Lovely dress Tonia. You have a keen eye for a beautiful bargain. My weekend was charming – especially Sunday when I started the day by waking up, enjoying a cup of tea in bed reading a book, then promptly going back to sleep for another half an hour. Doesn’t sound dynamic but, boy, was it refreshing! Then lunch and wine beside Moreton Bay with my family, including Jack (nice that he can now sit at a table with adults for an hour or two and not squirm in agony). Hope you have a relaxing week and weekend and get to de-frazzle.

Hey birthday gal, I’m so pleased you had a relaxing weekend. Glad the bay and your lovely boy Jack turned on such a beautiful day for you. Here’s to a year of many more good times. xx

That dress was a steal! It looks gorgeous on you! I hope it put a spring in your step! I’m so excited about Offspring, I hope I don’t combust with excitement before it hits the screens!

So lovely to have caught up with you, too, Tonia! We are sorely missing the beautiful weather as we are now back in chilly Melbourne, so it looks as though I won’t be wearing my op shop purchase for a little while now (unless the weather improves). On the upside, I am managing, finally, to gain some internet access and time, briefly, on the computer, to respond. I hadn’t seen your lovely purchase – that’s sensational! (You’ll also have to show off your dress from the market soon too – bring on Frocktober!)

Hi Helen, glad to see you back online and golly it was great to see you up this way. In breaking news, turns out my market dress is too big! Eek! I’m going to try and swap it next weekend or maybe see if it can be taken in a wee bit. Love the fabric so fingers crossed. Hope things warm up soon so you can wear your gorgeous bargain! x
