Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to bid this weekend adieu.
Is this post a little overdue? Our last Monday mourning was more than a month ago but we’re here now so let’s push on.
I’m wearing the obligatory black but with a twist. Think of it as a businessy onesie. She’s an all-in-one frock with a button-down front, a fabric belt and side pockets. I could go on at length about her length. My, how I love me a midi. If only this week could be cropped a wee bit too.
Yes, I’ve got that sinking feeling and no it’s not because my pumps are being swallowed up by the soil en route to my toil. I’m pining for my wonderful weekend. Why must all good things come to an end?
It started with a lazy cafe breakfast followed by a long overdue spring clean. The bathroom got a spruce up and my wardrobe had a shake up. During the decluttering I dusted off the overnight bag and planned a little weekend away. Did I mention there was also takeaway? A seafood marinara pasta big enough for two but really just for you know who.
What did you get up to this weekend? Are you Monday mourning too?
Linking up today with The Multitasking Mummy.
Lydia C. Lee
This weekend was crazy -a festival of logistics, and very little fun….but I’m hoping to sneak off to the Turrell this week, so am holding onto that idea for sanity! Lovely dress!
Tonia
“…a festival of logistics”…I love that Lydia. I’m heading into a bit of that myself today! Re: that dress, it was actually a thrift store purchase. From memory, I think I paid around $20-$25 for it. Bargain and so comfy for a mad Monday!
Jody at Six Little Hearts
That’s a lovely outfit and I love your bag. I spent my weekend co-ordination my 7 year old’s Birthday adventures. I am very tired today!
Tonia
A birthday party you say, no wonder you’re pooped today. Hope you get the chance to put your feet up tonight. As for that bag, I bought it at kikki.K a few months ago and it has turned out to be a bit of a favourite of mine. Big enough for my laptop and I’ve even managed to use it as an overnight bag a few times. Very handy.
merilyn
you make me laugh! plus you look great tonia!
love your clever words! also love your bag!
I didn’t know you were still working!
you can see how my mind is working this morning!
dyslexic sometimes or jumping around!
we looked at castles in france and their gardens! … as it was cold and we are francophiles!
and wondered why they are “cheap” compared to normal houses!
watched Eurovision as I live with an Austrian!;0
armchair travel is ok too!
try to enjoy your day tonia! … love m:)X
Tonia
Oh Merilyn, those castles in France sound dreamy. Wish I was planning an overseas holiday but alas a little interstate travel will have to do for now! Hope you have a good week. xx P.S. Glad you caught Eurovision, I missed it which was a pity because I really think Guy Sebastian is an amazing talent.
Gael - The Vinyl Edition
Well, you went from ‘decluttering’ to ‘planning a weekend away’ awfully quickly, didn’t you? Loving the black frock there, Tonia!
Tonia
Thanks Gael and yep that little trip was whipped up in a hurry. Jumped online to check out flight prices and was a bit shocked. Took the plunge before I had time to reconsider! Hope your week got off to a good start.
Zita
Given I am currently ‘unemployed’ each day is feeling like the weekend at the moment! (Sorry, not sorry)
On the weekend I spent some time with my twin nephews! Trying to spend as much time with them as I can before I take off for the States in less than 2 weeks!!!
Tonia
Oh Zita – that sounds like bliss! No alarms on Monday morning – wowsers! I’m so excited for your upcoming trip. Don’t forget to post lots of photos and take good care over there x
Carole Horne
Liking the “midi”, Tonia. Classy and classic. And you can’t go wrong with black. My weekend? I actually had a mad clean-out myself (must be something in the stars) and reorganised clothes drawers, cupboards and hanging space. Once you start, you can’t stop – at least that’s my experience. There’s a particular kind of satisfaction that comes with opening a drawer of neatly folded jumpers – colour-coded, no less. Sadly, it won’t last. 🙂
Tonia
Colour-coded Carole! Oh my. Please tell me the bookshelf is next? Your clean-out sounds a bit more rigorous than mine. I’m just at the bottom of a very big mountain. Hope you have a good week xx
Sanch @ Living my Imperfect Life
Why do Mondays come around so quickly?? Sounds like you had a lovely weekend. I had a wedding to go to and then on Sunday went to see Tara Moss as part of the writer’s festival.
Tonia
Oh Sanch your weekend sounds perfect. I love a wedding. The food, the fashion, the family, the friends…isn’t it just delicious? As for the festival, I would have loved to have seen Tara Moss. She’s so eloquent and seems really down to earth. Did you enjoy it?
Mum Of Five Girls
Oh I love your outfit!
But ugh Mondays….don’t love them so much!!
Tonia
Thanks Veronica and yep I know the feeling, Mondayitis hit me pretty hard yesterday! Hope you have a good week.
Mum Of Five Girls

Forgot to say that I was visiting from #TeamMM !!!
Tonia
Gotcha! No worries. Thanks Veronica x
