Monday mourning (29.06.15)

realrunning1
We’re off and racing, Monday mourners. Mind you, I don’t feel like I’ve slowed down all weekend. More about that later.

For now, I find myself on this country road in a favourite Country Road frock (not sponsored). I bought her at least twelve months ago before a trip down south. She hasn’t made too many appearances north of the border…until now.

I thought her fancy full sleeves and her sleek fit were a tad too formal for most of my routine engagements but now I’m starting to reconsider. What am I waiting for? Any day’s a good excuse to dress up, right?

So where did I go wrong this weekend? Well let’s just say I tried to cram a mountain snuggly into a molehill. Instead of clocking off on Friday afternoon, I ploughed through two days of studying, working and washing (my least favourite chore). Golly I sound like a right bore.

Fear not. There was a smidgen of downtime, in which I squeezed in a beach walk, ate some apple pie and lingered in my favourite op shop.

Tell me, did you have time to stop? What did you get up to this weekend?

Linking up today with The Multitasking Mummy.

Ooh…love the tights! I followed up a tough week with a Saturday full of laundry and cleaning. But I let my hair down on Saturday night and it was awesome. (That is of course until Sunday rolled around…and I had the hangover to contend with and no evidence of the previously clean house!)

Hey Shannon, glad to hear your Saturday night was some sweet reward for a tough week. Don’t sweat the housework, I say. Hope this week’s a bit smoother for both of us. Thanks for stopping by.

  • Oh those spotty leg things – the loveliness!

Love the action shot! And I don’t think that dress is too formal at all, we all need a bit of glamour in our lives!

Aw, you’re too kind. Thanks Natalie!

  • I had a lovely weekend (it was my birthday!) so made the most of it with champagne at lunch and dinner, a decadent chocolate cake and husband made a divine curry. What made the days even better were that the kids were well-behaved and the toddler only had one meltdown! Hooray! Back to reality today though with three loads of washing and vacuuming 🙂

Happy birthday Emma! Your weekend sounds like just the right combination of treats (well deserved, I’m sure). As for that washing and vacuuming, I say make the celebrations go all week…take away Tuesday has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?

  • I heart your tights and your Monday Mourning photos! I had the opposite kind of weekend, we went to the Mountains and literally barely managed a molehill and a bushwalk but we did sit by the fire a lot, drink a lot of red wine and fill our bellies. If only weekends could last forever…

Oh Sammie, I was watching your Insta feed and it looked mighty fine (especially that pic of the lovely lounge chair and fireplace). Never quite made it to the Blue Mountains when I lived in Sydney but it’s definitely up there on my “to do” list. Hope you manage to carry over some of that feeling of relaxation into the week ahead.

Love the spots and your action photos. I was working from home today, with the kids on holidays (but hubby was home) in my pj’s with bad period pain and generally not much get-up-and-go. But tomorrow is the last day of the first half of the year and the next day the first of the second half. So I’ve got time to get off the starting block and do something.

Hey Kathy, sorry to hear you weren’t feeling at your best yesterday. Isn’t working from home such a treat (especially when you can stay in your pjs, as you say)? Here’s to a happy and healthy second half of the year for you and yours. xx

  • I love the spotty tights! This week I’m not really Monday mourning as such, as I’m only working on the Monday and then have the rest of the week off to enjoy it with my kids during their school holidays!

  • We had one of THOSE weekends too … bit of a whirlwind! Back to work for a break I think 😉

I think the solution is three day weekends every week. If only, hey? Hope next weekend is a bit slower for both of us.

  • Nice to have found your blog! Nice dress and spotty legs!
