(Please note: This post was first published on 30 January 2015, on the 32nd day of my 40 days of 40th birthday celebrations.)

Birthday etiquette demands that one politely reads one’s card before one rips into one’s gift.

Well I must confess, when this little lady arrived, I took one look at the calling card Totem and ripped open the wrapping faster than you can say “day 32, don’t mind if I do”.

This ruby rose maxi was popped over my birthday suit quickity split and already she’s ever so match fit. Yes she’ll be ideal at my coastal Queensland digs, but meanwhile in Melbs she’s getting a hearty holiday workout.

Hang on…hold the phone…where are my manners? I must thank Totem for gifting me this fab frock and, let me say, she sure does rock.

Fine and flowy, she is a light weight but boy does she pack a punch. She’s very versatile, thanks to a long tie belt that can be cinched at the waist any which way. Hip hip hooray, I get to eat birthday cake for yet another day.

So what gives her that sweet, sweet sway I hear you say? Well she’s not alone. She’s a double act, courtesy of a long line red slip that feels so lovely to wear you barely know it’s there.

Don’t you go disappearing though, I want to invite you to climb aboard the birthday tram to take in the city sights. First stop, Totem town of course.

If red is not quite the hue for you, I invite you to check out their range in blue.

Thanks to Scoot Communications for the fabulous snaps featured in this post.
