Sorry I snapped at your dog

blondepuppy

The way I see it, I’m developing quite a fondness for strangers in fur.

I can’t seem to stop snapping pics of handsome hounds. Outside shopping centres, cafes, on boardwalks or if I’m bored on a walk…I’ll pull out my phone and snap off a few shots.

The talent is always obliging and generally gives me a few angles to work with; as for their owners, they’re far more elusive. Who knows where they go after tying up fido?

It doesn’t take a shrink to think I need a puppy but the timing’s not quite right. So if you see your dog in my Insta feed or in the snaps below, please accept my thanks for sharing him with me for a wee while.

I may have given him a pat or just sat back and enjoyed a brief respite despite a hurried day. So thank you for helping me out in some small way.

Suffice to say, I’m sorry I snapped at your dog.

What’s filling up your feed? Do you snap at strangers in fur too?

Ah puppy love. Very cute. Under significant pressure in this household to get a dog – in fact it will be a chocolate labrador and we will be picking him up in early December (a breeder has been lined up). Say goodbye to clean floors (who am I kidding, my cream tiled floors are never very clean).

Oh congrats! Now the breed’s been decided, I bet there’s lots of debate over the name. Look forward to seeing pics of him or her helping to trim the tree this Christmas.

  • Very cute subjects!

Cute!!! Haha, you really must want a dog. If the owners are anything like me I’m sure they would be happy for you to walk them too. I love the shaggy brown poodle – that’s what I was thinking of getting for dog #2 but then we rescued a jack russell cross. He’s a lovely dog

Oh Liz, I love the idea of a rescue dog. Glad you’ve welcomed one into your home. I bet he’s thrilled to have joined the family. Have a good weekend.

Sounds like you’ve got a full house (but a fun one, I’m sure). Your daughter sounds lovely – hooray for rescuers, I say! Rug up this weekend. I’m looking forward to another cool one. xx

I’m a bit like that with kids. I left a doctor’s appt the other day feeling miserable and was waiting for my lift home and hung out with a mother and toddler (who had a cold so wasn’t allowed to wait in the surgery). This child was probably under 2 cos she couldn’t speak much but we played those wordless peekabo type games one plays with toddlers and it put me in a much better mood!

Oh Deborah, that’s a lovely story. I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes total strangers (especially the tiny ones) can have a really big impact on your day. Hope more lovely things come your way this weekend. x

  • Our dog is very sweet and loving to us, but tends to be a little ‘misunderstood’ by the general public. He likes to lick the faces of strangers. He’s been ‘snapped at’ quite a few times by house guests. He takes a good photo, though. Lots of cute pooches in your snaps 🙂

Oh I bet your little ones love him to bits! (p.s. I had a chuckle at being “misunderstood”..something many of our four-legged friends can relate to, I’m sure).

  • Oh I do this all the time. You must also be poody (like broody but for a pooch) like me. I’ve even got my own hashtag on Instagram #houndsinmyhood I’m currently at my mum’s in the mother country and am loving her dog sick. My Instagram feed is full of puppy pictures and my feed has never looked so cute! Oh and I follow heaps of canines on Instagram too, I even wrote a whole post on the most handsome hounds to follow!

Pleased to meet another canine connoisseur. I’ll definitely have to check out your hashtag and that post you mentioned. Thanks for the tips. Now, if only I could pop over to the UK to see your latest crop of cuties! Have fun over there.

Love these…can’t say as I do it, but I do love dogs. It’s funny what people will take pictures of…we live in Taiwan, but are from the US. We have a little boy who is very fair skinned…I can’t even imagine how many Facebook and instagram feeds he is on over here, he gets his picture taken almost everyday by a stranger.

Hi Laura, lovely to meet you…thanks for popping over. Your son sounds delightful. Look forward to seeing your blog. Meanwhile, have a good weekend.

  • LOL I did the same thing when we were in Europe, taking photos of random kitties (because I missed mine at home so much). We just spent the weekend in a cabin at a B&B and had a lovely time with the two resident dogs! I think we all just need more cute in our lives, full stop.
