The final frocks of Frocktober 2016

img_4599

Lucky last. Of my final 3 frocks, this one’s been most popular over on Insta.

A meaningful month — that’s what I’m calling October. Actually, it’s Frocktober to be precise. I’ve partaken thrice. It’s 31 days of 31 dresses to help raise awareness and funds for the development of an early detection test for ovarian cancer research. You can find out more about the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation here.

So where were we? Ah, yes, it’s time for my weekly honour roll. As I hit publish on this post, my fundraising tally is a tad over $330. I’d like to thank Hilary, Jodine, Helen from Helen’s Home Base and Eilis from Frock this town for their kind donations since my last post. Your generosity was music to my ears. By the way, Eilis is a DJ so if you need to bust out some beats, pop over here. Whilst we’re on the shout-out train, be sure and stop off at Sublime Finds where Andrea kindly included me in her wrap up post. Most importantly, I want to thank my photographer who made all of this frolicking and frocking possible. What a champion! Creative, patient, talented and supportive … the list is endless.

Now it’s time to take stock of my last few frocks. By the by, this blog isn’t sponsored by any brands. Blah, blah. I just wanted you to know, so now it’s on with the show.

Saturday 29 October

This gal’s a Gorman from a few seasons ago and golly I love it. At the time, it was a bit of a splurge but I couldn’t shake the urge. I had to make it mine. Fortunately, I was able to justify my purchase with that age-old excuse ‘…but it’s for Frocktober’. Ah yes, that old chestnut works every time!

Sunday 30 October

Well this was a happy coincidence. A few other Frocktober gals donned this Leona Edmiston dress too. Lately, I’m growing more and more enamoured by green, do you know what I mean?

Monday 31 October

This one’s priceless to me. It was a special and unexpected gift. Need I say more? Actually, I will say more. The brand is Tokito and I just found it online here in case you fancy a closer look.

Well folks, that’s it for Frocktober 2016. Thank you for your donations and motivations. xx

I’m interested to learn about other fundraising events. Know any you’d care to share?

Loved following along, when I could via your Instagram feed. You did such a fab job. I ended up sponsoring a local Frocktober event hosted by three blogging friends here in Perth. Such a great day. I keep thinking each year, I’ll brave up and frock up myself but it just doesn’t happen. Never say never though.

Thanks Raychael. By the way, that Frocktober event sounds like fun too. I did see a couple of Perth events on Insta. Maybe 2017 will be your year for the frocks, hey? Trust me, it’s great fun and the 31 days end up flying by. x

Hey thanks Nicole! I especially love the Insta community at this time of year — such awesome support for this cause. So many great gals and fabulous frocks.

  • I’ve loved your Frocktober pics and the words that go with them! Congratulations on raising all those fabulous funds and wearing such fantastic frocks. I especially love the one on the 31st, so pretty in pink. Dare I say you saved the best til last?

Thanks Sammie. I’ve got a soft spot for that last one too! x

  • Loved your frockventures this year … I have actually just pruned my wardrobe and a lot of the dresses I got for Frocktober last year (thrifted for the most part) have now gone back to the op shop for somebody else to love!

Snap! I’ve done my fair share of recycling for Frocktobers too! Truth be told, I love op shopping anytime of year. x

I’ve been so gosh darn busy lately, I’ve been missing your frock updates. I love your frocks as much as I love your hair flicking poses. Must say I adore the Gorman dress and who says blue and green should never be seen?!! Good on you for raising those funds. It is a brilliant cause x

Thanks Renee, yes I’m so glad I ended up getting that Gorman dress. Looking forward to wearing it during the festive season (… how can we be talking about Christmas already)! x

Thanks Rachel, I think I might need to add to my Leona Edmiston collection. That green/blue frock is a bit lonely!
